Answering a message
Replying by text, WhatsApp, a notification or email.
Your answer does the same thing whichever way the message reached you.
- A notification on your phone
- Tap a button on the notification — I can do this, Take it or Not for me for an open shift, Confirm or Can't do it for a booking — or tap the notification to open the app. On an iPhone there are no buttons: tap it, and answer in the app.
- A text
- Reply with a short answer. When a text lists several shifts, they are numbered, so you can say which.
- Tap the button under the message — I can do this, Not for me or Confirm.
- An email
- Use the link in it. It opens the shifts in this app, where you answer.
Replying to a text
- YES
- Yes to everything in the message.
- NO
- No to everything in the message.
- 1 3
- Yes to shifts 1 and 3 only.
- ALL
- Yes to every shift listed.
- NO 2
- You cannot do shift 2 — for a text asking you to confirm several bookings.
A text asks about three Saturdays at Hillview, numbered 1, 2 and 3. You can do the first and the third, so you reply:
1 3
You get a short text back saying what happened. The coordinator then chooses who to book.
Anything else, such as “yes but only the morning”, goes to a coordinator to read — Rota never guesses what you meant. To stop texts altogether, reply STOP to any text, or stop them under How we contact you.
